Wine Making Experience
Ray’s experience in winemaking started in 1976 whilst selling wine grapes brought up from South Australia to our European clientele to make their homemade wine. Being inquisitive, he then decided to learn how to make wine. When this started to become a real passion, he studied winemaking books and with help from the Late Murray Tyrrell, who he used to repair wood vats for, started making wine – refining the process over time.
Soon after and with a background interest in chemistry at high school, Ray set up a small lab at the premises to aid in his winemaking analysis and to assist customers with general winemaking tests. Later a licence was acquired to sell wine in bulk to customers.
Today, although we no longer carry a licence to sell wine, we are more than happy to share our knowledge and experience of winemaking with you. We offer advice, support and guidance throughout the entire process as well as basic wine testing to assist you on your own home winemaking journey.
